Orchestra preparing for ISSMA state competition on Feb. 25

The orchestra is continuing its preparation for the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) state competition, which, according to associate orchestra director James Woomert, will be held Feb. 25.

According to violist and junior Kavya Sankhavaram, the orchestra did very well at districts.

“Camerata (orchestra) got a perfect score, and anyone who got a gold at districts can move on to state,” she said.

According to Sankhavaram, the orchestra will be performing “Symphonie Fantastique” by Berloiz, and “Romanian Rhapsody” by Enescu.

In addition to the ISSMA competition, the orchestra preparing for its spring break trip to California.

According to Sankhavaram, the orchestra will perform in the Crystal Cathedral outside of Los Angeles.
