Transportation Department still hiring more bus drivers

The Transportation Department continues to hire more bus drivers as advertised on its website, according to Ron Farrand, director of facilities and transportation.

“We are currently in pretty good shape for drivers,” Farrand said. “However, we continue to hire as we are experiencing our usual turnover of drivers.”

Details about the job of a bus driver and the application process were highlighted in an article in AtCarmel about the department’s bus drivers. It also covers how Carmel Clay School’s first priority is safety, a quality which all of the drivers embody.

Senior Jeremy Rolsky said that he agrees that safety should be first priority when driving buses, and he has experienced no problems regarding that.

“I can’t remember any time I haven’t felt safe on the bus,” Rolsky said. “The bus drivers do a good job.”
