Women’s track and field prepares for Patriot Indoor Invitational

On March 10 the women’s track and field team competes in the Patriot Indoor Invitational. The Invitational takes place annually in Anderson, Indiana. Head coach Tim Mylin said this tournament will help set the tone for the rest of the season.

“Since this is an early meet it will help assess what we need to work on in the future,” Mylin said.

Although the team is preparing for the Patriot Indoor Invitational, its goal is set on the state meet. The state meet takes place on June 1 but the team already has their goals in mind. Cami Trachtman, junior and team member, is one with a specific goal in mind.

“Last year we didn’t win state which was a disappointment,” said Trachtman. “Our overall team goal this year is to finish in the top 3 in the state meet this year.”

Trachtman said last year there were a few holes that are now filled with this year’s team and coaches.

“The team this year is a lot deeper,” said Trachtman. “We have a huge talent pool to choose from for events this year.”

Members of the women’s track and field team are also competing in the Mideast Indoor Classic on March 10.
