The women’s swimming and diving team prepares to compete in the State Prelims on Feb. 14 at the IUPUI Natatorium. Individual team members have qualified for Prelims and will compete to make it to the State Finals. The team continues to strive for its 28th State title.

According to Head Coach Chris Plumb the girls are ready to compete. “I feel confident that we are going to swim well and be at our best,” he said. Plumb is also requiring more rest for the girls, as they need to be prepared to compete the best they can. “The girls will rest more and all the girls need to prepare to be racing in their “racing suits” as opposed to their “team” suit.”

All 27 swimmers qualified for the State Prelims and according to team captain Hanna House, the goal is to have all 27 swimmers advance to State Finals. As the girls prepare for the Prelims House said some girls are becoming anxious to compete. “I think there are definitely some nerves here and there but our coaches really emphasis handling nerves with conviction,” House said.
