Kids’ Corner prepares for preschoolers’ arrival on Feb. 14

by Beats

Kids’ Corner is a class where selected seniors get hands on experience teaching a real preschool class. For the start of the new semester, different seniors replace those who taught the preschoolers first semester, but it’s the same preschoolers the whole school year according to Kids’ Corner teacher Kimberly Lenzo.

Lenzo says that a few of the younger kids had trouble saying goodbye last semester, but also that most of them just go with the flow and will be fine with the transition to different senior teachers.

For now, the new seniors are preparing their lessons for the preschoolers’ first class on Feb. 14, although Lenzo is considering starting early on Feb. 12 and then giving a short break during part of the semester.

Stacey Zimmerman, first semester Kids’ Corner member and senior, says her advice to the second semester seniors would be, “Just be patient and have fun with them…don’t worry if they don’t get their work done. Enjoy them.” By Olivia Weprich <oweprich@hilte.org>
