Regional Scholastic Art Competition winners to be announced Feb. 9

The Regional Scholastic Art Competition winners are scheduled to be announced Feb. 9, according to art department chairperson Jen Davis.

“The competition is where students from central Indiana compete against each other in a number of different art categories,” Davis said. Butler is the regional sponsor, which is also in charge of getting the judges.

Art teacher John Kane said he selected several students from his classes for the competition. “I have a lot of students who entered with entire portfolios,” Kane said.

The exhibition reception for the winners is scheduled at Clowes Hall on March 20, the last day of the exhibit. The exhibit with all the winning artwork is Feb. 15 to March 20 at Clowes Hall from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free. By Katie Walstrom <kwalstrom@hilite.org>
