The Hamilton Country Cinderella Story, a countywide prom attire distribution, is scheduled to take place on March 12 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This event, which is scheduled to take place at Noblesville High School, provides prom attire such as dresses and suits for those in financial need according to Deb Lewis, co-chair of the Cinderella Story event and member of the Westfield Mom’s Club. The event is open to the public and will sell dresses and suits for $10-20. There will also be other prom related attire such as shoes, jewelry, purses and wraps.
Although the Westfield Mom’s Club has hosted the Cinderella Story for the past five years, Lewis, along with Julie Winbun, co-chair and Westfield Mom’s Club member, chose to make it a countywide event for the first time this year.
“When Julie and I took it over this year, we decided to take it throughout Hamilton County and help more girls and boys,” Lewis said via email.
Dresses can be donated and dropped off at Stitches and Scones, Inc. located at 120 N. Union St. in downtown Westfield or in Jane Wildman, CHS student assistant coordinator’s, office.
“We ask that people donate new or used dresses which are dry cleaned and in good condition. If you donate a dress, you can get a dress for free at the dress sale,” Lewis said.
According to Lewis, volunteers are needed to help set up on March 11 and to work at the dress sale on March 12. With any questions about this event, contact Lewis at firstname.lastname@example.org or Winburn at email@example.com. By Rachel Boyd <firstname.lastname@example.org>
