Film Club meeting on Sept. 15

Film Club will have its second meeting on September 15 in Room E150, according to club sponsor Robyn Huss. Film Club meets on the first and third Thursday of every month to watch a movie, she said, and students who want to join can drop by E150 to vote on upcoming movies and pick up a permission slip for Rated R movies.

Students choose movies according to their preferences and the Academy Awards for Best Picture/Actor/Actress, Huss said. Meetings may end anywhere from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Popcorn and seasons are available at every meeting, Huss said but for long movies, students can bring $5 for pizza.

“The atmosphere is casual; it seems like a family,” Huss said. She said Film Club is mainly a social club that allows students to forget about stress while watching a movie.

Jack Detke, sophomore and film club member, agrees that the atmosphere is enjoyable. “It gives students an opportunity to interact with each other,” Detke said. “It can provide you new friends and knowledge about movies.”
