Do Something Club meeting Nov. 22, gift drive to end Nov. 21

Do Something Club members will meet Nov. 22, as well as participate in a gift drive for charity. According to club sponsor James Ziegler, Nov. 21 will be the last day for Do Something Club members to participate in Operation Christmas Child, a charity drive that will collect school supplies, toys, and other small items that can be packed into a shoebox for donation.

“The response seemed pretty good,” Ziegler said. “My goal is to get 10 or 12 (shoeboxes) that we can ship overseas based on who responded to the event.”

Co-president and junior Hunter Leonard said the club has already collected a few shoeboxes. He said the club members should bring in the care packages throughout the week.

Leonard said the holiday party planned for the Dayspring Center, a homeless shelter in Indianapolis, will be planned out during their meeting on Nov. 22.
