Model U.N. members awaiting country assignments

Model U.N. members continue to wait for news from IUPUI regarding their proposed country assignments. Last semester, students paired up and made a list of their top choices for country assignments for the conference coming up this spring. Club sponsor Tracy Hadden said that those decisions should be coming soon.

“I think IUPUI is still on their winter break right now, but after this semester gets going we should get some information from them,” she said.

Hadden said after country assignments arrive the students will begin working on their position papers. Position papers are written by students to state their stance on world issues in regard to their country.

The country assignments students will receive represent the countries they will be delegates for at the IUPUI Model U.N.conference. Club member and senior Nikhil Dharan said he looks forward to both the country assignments and the conference.

“My partner and I are ready to get going on this,” he said. “We’re both really excited for this spring.”
