Winter guard to compete in WGI Indianapolis competition Feb. 11, 12

According to winter guard sponsor Rosie Queen, all of the guard members are working hard to make this season a success, focusing next on the WGI Indianapolis competition on Feb. 11 and 12, as well as one on Feb. 18 at Danville High School. Winter guard members started the 2012 season with a community preview and a competition at Brownsburg High School.

(The season)’s going really well,” junior Nicole Von Ah said of these events. “We got first place in the world class. Our A guard went as well and scored a silver rating in the AA class.”

“The world class is the highest caliber of girls in the program. They are all from the high school and are mostly upperclassmen,” Queen said via email. “The ‘A’ guard has a combination of some of the eighth-graders and underclassmen of the high school fall guard.”
