Academic Decathlon unable to compete at national competition, schedules call-out meeting for April 10

The Academic Decathlon team qualified for the national competition this year, but due to conflicting dates the team was unable to compete.

“I’m disappointed, but at the same time we didn’t even know if we’d have a team at the beginning of the year, so I feel like we had a better run than expected and did better than we did last year,” club sponsor Wendy Gerardot said. 

Emily Weerakkody, club president and junio,r said via email, “I had a lot of fun with the team this year. We were more of an actual team than we’ve ever been.”

Members did celebrate the end of their season with a party. Also, the team has a call-out meeting scheduled on April 10 for anyone interested in competing with the team next year.
