Scrabble Club has yet to have its first meeting

by Michael Li

According to Scrabble Club sponsor Courtney Trachtman, former club members have not yet come to her with ideas for when Scrabble Club should meet. The club, where previously students were able to hang out, eat food, and play Scrabble, could possibly not exist this year.

Although no one has come up to her with ideas for the club yet, Trachtman said she is positive that this year will not be any different from last year. She said Scrabble Club will still be a club at this school.

“Why wouldn’t I? I have no reason to suspect that the club this year will be any less popular than it was last year,” Trachtman said.

If the club should start, there will be some events throughout the school year, mainly Scrabble tournaments. At the end of the year, there will be an end of the year pizza party.

“I’m looking forward to that,” Trachtman said.

For new members, Trachtman has the same message; if you are interested, go see her. But for the time being, Scrabble Club is not yet officially a club.

“I’m still looking for the former or new member to rise up to the challenge of being a leader in the club to organize the meetings,” Trachtman said.
