The College and Career Resource Center is planning to have college information night on Sept. 23 and 30 at 7 p.m. in the freshman cafeteria. According to Career Center counselor Tanna Hanger, college information night helps students prepare for the college process.
“It will go through the entire college process with students and their parents. We hit on finances, what it takes to get into certain schools, scholarships, and more,” Hanger said.
College information night will be comprised of two sections, a general section discussing the process of applying to college and a section discussing how to get into more prestigious schools.
According to senior Meghan Reidy, college information night helped her in applying for colleges. “I got a lot of information I wouldn’t have gotten otherwise. They give you more specific information and statistics that you can’t find on a college’s Web site.”
Hanger said juniors are encouraged to attend but all grades are welcome. She said, “The college process can be very complex and it is essential for students get as much information as they can. This is one way for them to prepare.” By Caroline Zhang <czhang@hilite.org>
