Later on in the month of May, all the department chairs will meet together to decide which classes will be included in next year’s Program of Studies. While some courses are planning to be added to the Program of Studies, students such as freshman Pranith Lomada say that they hope no courses are removed from the Program of Studies.
“I quite like the current course offerings,” Lomada said, “I think there is plenty of variety, and it would be a shame if any of the courses were to go.”
Director of Counseling Linda Skafish said, “The meeting for the Program of Studies is scheduled for later on this month.”
Skafish adds that she is not particularly sure of a specific date yet.
Skafish said, “The process in which the Program of Studies is put together is quite simple. All the department chairs meet together with Mr. Williams sometime in May, and discuss which classes will be available to students the following year.”
Skafish said once that is finalized, the Counseling Center is able to put the Program of Studies together. “We’re fortunate that we can offer so many classes here, and the Program of Studies really reflects that. I believe there are also going to be some new classes available here next year.”
Lomada said “It’s great that the school can offer new classes to students, but I still hope that the school decides to keep all the current classes.” Lomada said he looks forward to receiving the Program of Studies next year, so he can choose which classes he wants in his schedule for next school year.
