My name is Molly Howell, and I go to Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School in Indianapolis, Indiana. I am an Editor for our paper, the Arrow, and we are looking to also create an online edition. We're hoping to set this up by the end of the current school year, but there are a few administrative and legal issues we have to clear. I was wondering if you could answer a few questions regarding your online papers and how you went about creating it.

Are you a public or private school?
Do you have an individual website or is it based off of the school's?
Are you based on your school's server?
What programs did you use for Web Design?
How do you deal with privacy and placing students' names by their pictures? Is that okay with your administration?

Thank you so much! -Molly Howell

Hi,
My name is Anthony Cave and I am the Webmaster of the Lightning Strike based in Miami, Florida at Dr Michael M Krop Senior High. I was wondering how I would go about transferring my Dreamweaver site to the wordpress layout, or what would you recommend for my site? If you could check out the site and let me know that would be greatly appreciated. I love your site layout and all it's features.

Thanks.

Why do you insist on referring to CHS athletic teams as men's an women's? There are 14 year old boys and girls on these teams. The ISHAA doesn't refer to high school athletes as men and women but the correct boys ans girls. College is soon enough to become men and women.

As a former newspaper writer, I am continually amazed by the talent here at Carmel High School. The journalistic writing is always superb. I'm so proud of our local teens communicating about national issues affecting the homefront. The current publication of the HiLite, Jan. 29, has also the most visual display of photos, art and graphics. The cover's photo illustration accompanying the article "Veil of Discrimination" readily caught my eye as well as Daniel Li's graphic of the soldier with penetrating eyes on pages 3 & 4. The layout as well as the pictures are sure to draw in ageless readers whether it be the cartoon logos for "generic food" or the multi-cultural icons represting differences in our society.
Hats off to the entire HiLite staff as well as sponsor Jim Streisel for publishing a great issue, and I look forward to more to come.

I like your website a lot- it is very well done. I run our student newspaper website, and was just wondering what wordpress theme you were using. Also I had some questions about how you were able to get your school to let you have comments on your website? We have had a lot of trouble with that in the past. Your help would be awesome,

I would like to see a story published on how technology effects and impacts school extracurricular such as clubs and sports. I am the Vice President of the Anime Club at CHS and we have made a website with basic web technologies.

It may be interesting to make an article showing how things like facebook, twitter, and other web mediums effect how school functions are conducted and run. We created our website by using a free website making tool called 'webs.com'. It was rather simple, and we made this website this year in about 2 weeks. We published our website to our club members, and it is now a strong part of our club's organization and event planning. We hope that this becomes more and more of a tool as the year, even years, after its establishment.
Anime Club, a club encouraging and showing Japanese Style Cartoons, has also become more technologically advanced do to the resources that are available to us. Our President, Jessica Bachkurinskiy, has a laptop that we use to view our anime via YouTube. I also offered the idea for the website, and I am a freshman. We hope that other clubs, sports, and organizations could start using things like websites and technology to simplify their tasks, because it sure did for Anime Club!

Hello. I would like to ask you to do an article on the destruction of forests and natural habitats to make room for human housing developments. A very good friend of mine is rather upset at the moment because a beautiful, vibrant forest she grew up in is being cut down to make a row of bungalows. It houses several endangered flora and fauna, a whole family of deer. Without their forest, without their winter food supplies, these animals will die. They will die to create affordable housing for people who couldn't care less about them.

I have been through multiple lines of communication, and every time I have simply been referred to "another department."
This is not right. This is not just. Something has to be done about this, and I am praying that newspapers, the last unbiased source of information, will help me.
Please.
Thank you.

We are interested in starting up an online newspaper for our school, and in our searches, we came across your school's paper. We really love your website, and we were hoping to ask you a few questions about how you set it up, what programs you used, etc. So if you could e-mail me back, we'd be very grateful. Keep up the good work, and we hope to hear from you soon!
