Junior Julian Rasoulpor completes his torque assignment in AP physics on Feb. 12. Julian really enjoys learning about new topics in physics so it makes it more challenging for him. Rasoulpor said, “I really love the challenge in my classes it makes sure I’m just not always sitting around doing nothing”.

Junior Griffin Woodward takes notes Feb 8th in his Avid class to prepare for the SAT March 5th. Woodward says, “Avid has helped me prepare for the SAT, the last couple of weeks we have been taking notes on what type of questions will be asked on the SAT and how we can solve them.”

Junior Henry Joliet listens to advice on his opening statement at a mock trial meeting on Feb. 16 in Mr. Browning’s room. Joliet was practicing for a regional competition which took place Feb. 17 where his team, Heartburners, won first place. Joliet said, “Real lawyers don’t use comic sans.”

Gaia Shields studying at Indie Coffee Roasters on March 6 Indie Coffee Roasters have been opened since 2018 and has sense become a popular study space. “I come here every morning,” Shields said. “It is such a great community and I have started to get close with the staff.”

Sophomore Elizabeth “Lily” Mar types on the computer in her AP Principles of Computer Science class on Dec. 1. Mar worked on a decision making app in the class. “Coding is something I’ve been interested in, so I was glad that the school offered such (an) opportunity to learn it,” she said.

The new Hindu Heritage Society at Carmel High School is hosting a late Diwali celebration as their debut meeting to set a positive tone for the club. Diwali is a Hindu festival that is celebrated in November and is referred to as the festival of lights. In this meeting, the Hindu Heritage Society started the event with an offering to Lakshmi Devi(the goddess of wealth), played Diwali-themed jeopardy, provided food, and ended the night with an exciting indoor garbha.

HOSA ,executive member, Dhanya Pathangi introduced the club to interested members at the HOSA callout meeting on Aug. 28. Announcing the winner of HOSA’s club fair activity and describing the club’s many competitive events, she keeps these members looking forward to joining the club. She said, “We had a good turnout and everyone seemed engaged in my group. I’m really excited to see how this year goes.”

Sophomore Manvi Musunuru returns a bike to its owner for the Carmel Mayor’s Youth Council’s bike parking services at the Farmers Market on Sept. 2. The Carmel Mayor’s Youth Council, also known as CMYC, provides bike parking at the Carmel Farmers Market from May to September on Saturday mornings at Carter Green. The CMYC consists of around 25 to 35 high school students who implement activities across the city of Carmel.

Sophomore and member of the African History and Culture Club (AHCC) Anaya Reed strings together beads to make jewelry during the Sept. 11 meeting. Members of the AHCC discussed the upcoming homecoming activities. They made decorations and created bracelets and waist beads to sell at their Homecoming booth.

Junior Kyle Brinkman takes U.S History notes Sept. 14 to further his understanding about the civil war, and to help prepare him for the upcoming test. Brinkman also talked about how U.S history is something that sparks his interest because, after he graduates high school he is aiming to be a Air Force ROTC in college and then a fighter pilot. “I really enjoy this class because it’s intriguing to learn about how our country developed to what it is today.”

Nick Morelli through a bowling ball down a lane at Woodland Bowl in Carmel Indiana on Sept. 18. Nick really enjoys the high schools bowling team, and hopes for others to join. Nick Morelli says,”I enjoy bowling every day, and I love coming back each year to get better and make new friends”.

Seniors Aila Mckeown and Odessa Norton complete classwork during a National Honors Society (NHS) tutoring session on Sept. 19. Members of NHS tutored students from CHS in different subjects in order to gain volunteer hours and provide help towards the community.

Ellen Rozmaryn , Freshman Class Vice President , puts on a lei and crown at the Homecoming pep rally on Sept. 22. Rozmaryn’s team won 3rd place in its trike race and overall the event was a fun day for students to celebrate at this school.

Senior Sehej Aurora makes a Caramel Machiatto at the Carmel Cafe on Sept. 26. The Cafe is open before school and during class times for students to order food and drinks. During SSRT, seniors with a TCP card can stay at the Cafe to complete their work and meet with other TCP seniors.

Carmel High School Repertory Theatre students are rehearsing for their upcoming play “Puffs”. “Puffs” is a play directed by Rep Theatre teacher Mr.Steckbeck, opening in November. Mr.Steckbeck describes his experience directing “Puffs” so far, saying “I am unbelievably excited for the opening of our play. There are so many elements of comedy that I am booking forward to playing around with as the director.”

Sophomore Luke Boyce grades a fellow student’s practice Part A, a component of the AP Seminar national exam, on Oct. 16. AP Seminar students learned skills, such as research and producing arguments. It has been a course taken by sophomores, juniors and seniors of the school, including Boyce, who said, “AP Seminar helps me a lot with my researching skills.”

Catrina Hensly, Reily Alderman, and Vivi Dong packing some treats at the Sprinkle of Joy meeting on Oct. 19. They packed Halloween themed sweet treats for Carmel Clay Public Library trick or treat. “ I made some sugar cookies shaped like pumpkins,” Hensly said. “ I have always loved baking.”

Junior Faith Kim works on her hat for Halloween by making a decoration on top of an old hat on Oct. 31. Kim said, “Knowing that Halloween was soon I knew I had to get a costume. Instead of going out and buying a new one I decided to craft one instead! I enjoy making crafts when I have the time it is a very relaxing!”

Junior Alivia Conz wears her “Puffs” bracelet to promote the production in her precalculus class on Nov. 3. Conz was a part of the technical theatre crew for the play and said it will debut next Thursday.
