With the school year well underway, the CHS cafeteria is looking for student input about its menu.

“My biggest thing is tell me what you like, tell me what you want,” Anne Marie Woerner, manager of the main cafeteria, said. “I’m always open to suggestions, but no one seems to ever give any or is too scared to.”

One possible cause for the lack of communication between students and the cafeteria could be a result of students being complacent and not knowing how to submit their ideas and suggestions.

“I guess I’ve never really looked into giving ideas for the cafeteria,” sophomore Ken Li said. “There’s no suggestion box or anything like that for students.”

There is, however, an abundance of opinions and thoughts about the school menu.

“Now that I think of it, the cafeteria should have more vegetarian options,” Li said. “I don’t like to eat a lot of meat during lunch, but there aren’t a lot of options other than cheese pizza.”

Due to the shortage of comments and thoughts from the student body, Woerner tries to guess which items are popular among students by looking at the amount of consumption.

“The only thing I can really do is look at how much of everything students are eating. If they’re only going through a few boxes everyday, we’ll stop stocking them,” Woerner said. “It can be a bit frustrating at times because we don’t know what (students) want to eat.” By Jerry Xu <[email protected]>
