The TechHOUNDS team will continue their preseason training for the build season on October 28. George Giltner, TechHOUNDS sponsor, said that the team is currently training new students and exposing them to the TechHOUNDS setting and working on a crab robot prototype.
“(The progress of the new students is) good. We’re just throwing them in right now and exposing as much as we can in the preseason,” Giltner said.
The crab robot prototype, which Giltner said the team is currently working on, is one of the many projects that the members work on at the preseason meetings, which are intended to get new members accustomed to the new environment as well as prepare the whole team for the upcoming build season.
Ateev Gupta, junior and TechHOUNDS member, agrees. Gupta said he feels the team, which has a record of two consecutive Purdue Boilermaker Regional wins in the previous two years, is progressing quickly.
“I feel like the new members are learning quickly and adapting fast,” Gupta said. “We’ll have to see during the build season, though.” By David Choe.
