Freshman magazine sales convocation rescheduled to Oct. 15

On Oct. 15 the freshmen will attend a convocation giving them information about the magazine sales. It was originally scheduled for Oct. 9 on the school calendar but was changed. Starting on Oct. 17, the students will encourage people to buy magazines in order to raise money for their class. They will be selling magazines for 2 weeks, ending on Oct. 29.

“This is the only time they will be asked to do any fundraising. If they raise a lot of money they will be able to do a lot of neat things,” Assistant Principal Amy Skeens-Benton said. “Prom is what we use most of the money for.”

Freshman English teacher Mark Wien is the supervisor for the magazine sales.

“It’d be great if upperclassmen would buy magazines, but it would benefit the sophomores the most,” Skeens-Benton said.
