Senate plans Neon Dance for Saturday

Second semester, Senate starts at full speed, planning events from Dance Marathon to various staff appreciation weeks. Luckily though, according to Mason Yao, Senate member and junior, the Senate will have some assistance from the Cabinet.

“Winter Formal has been cancelled, so right now Senate and Cabinet are working together for a casual dance for after the basketball game this week,” Yao said.

The Neon Dance will take place Saturday after the basketball game from 9:30 pm to 11 pm in the fieldhouse.

“We use to have dances a lot after basketball games,” said Michelle Foutz, Senate sponsor and social studies teacher at this school. “We would like to increase the participation at basketball games. Also, the participation at Winter Formal was largely underclassmen and we just wanted a regular dance that could get participation from all grades.”

Foutz said that the Senate plans on donating the revenue from the dance to a cancer research foundation.

According to Foutz, this semester also starts a great deal of SRT oriented activities as well as staff appreciation weeks. “We have Brain Game coming up in a week or two and then there will be March Madness,” Foutz said.  By Mackenzie Madison <[email protected]>
