Juniors eligible to apply for membership in the National Honor Society have until 3:30 p.m. on March 4 to do so, according to Tony Willis, NHS assistant sponsor.

Willis said the 269 members of the junior class who have achieved a cumulative 3.7 grade point average are eligible to apply. The application form, which must be submitted on line, is available at http://tinyurl.com/4gzosjb. Letters of invitation to eligible juniors were hand delivered to them during SRT on Feb. 10, Willis said. Letters also were mailed to the students’ parents. A list of these juniors is posted on the activities office window.

“Because the application is submitted on line and being absent from school does not prevent the application from being submitted,” Willis said, “the deadline of 3:30 p.m. on March 4 is absolute and will not be extended.”

NHS sponsors will review the applications and inform juniors who have been selected for membership during the 2011-2012 school year in time for those students to prepare for the induction ceremony.
