After hearing about the Fall Festival at the Monon Center at Central Park, sophomore Hilary Deardorff said she would like to go. “I’d hang out with friends and stuff. The hay ride sounds fun,” Deardorff said.

The festival is Oct 27 from 1 to 4 p.m. “It’s basically going to be like a little carnival,” Lindsay Holajter, marketing coordinator for Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation (CCPR), said. There will be games like Mummy Bowling for kids, as well as concessions and entertainment for the whole family.

According to Holajter, if a family brings in five non-perishable items, the family will get in free. Otherwise, cost is $5 per person. Further information on the event is available online at www.carmelclayparks.com.

Holajter said, “It’s a new event held at Central Park, and we’re helping to get the public aware of what all Central Park is and what activities can be held there.” She said this is important for a new facility. Deardorff said the event sounds promising.

“(The festival) shows people that Carmel wants to celebrate a new season,” Deardorff said. “It shows that Carmel cares and wants to celebrate.”
