Students in the K-8 Mentoring class are learning how to work with students in need of help, according Robin Pletcher, K-8 instructor and social studies teacher.
“(The students) learn to work on communication skills; they work on listening skills; they work on patience,” Pletcher said.
Juniors and seniors enrolled in the class learn how to support kids who are new to CHS, in trouble, struggling academically, have lost a parent, or are in any other difficult situations.
According to Erica Millar, student in K-8 Mentoring and senior, “You’re giving (the mentees) special attention that they might not get somewhere else.”
