Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation to host “Skate Nite” on Oct. 22

Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation (CCPR) will host the first “Skate Nite” at the Monon Community Center on Oct. 22 from 7 to 11:30 p.m. Admission is $5 per person.

“We are looking to gear the event toward the skaters we see here during the day,” activities manager Lindsay Labas said. “We’re looking to give them a little more of a different and a fun atmosphere to come out and enjoy.”

In addition to skating, there will be games, concessions and a local band will play at the event, although CCPR does not know which band will perform. They are considering selecting a CHS band to play at the event. Those interested must have a demo reel of songs and should contact Sarah Carling at [email protected].

Labas said, “We are looking for more of that fun, punk type of entertainment for the event.”
