According to Stephanie Wu, UNICEF Club president and senior, the club will be fundraising for UNICEF in the month of October through the Trick or Treat for UNICEF program. Club officers are also planning to create a video commemorating the victims of the Haitian earthquake. The next meeting is scheduled to take place on Oct. 11.

“This year is the 60th anniversary for Trick or Treat for UNICEF. To commemorate this event, we are selling something called FEED bags. The bags can be used for carrying candy on Halloween. For every bag that we sell, the sponsor, HSN, will donate $3.50 to UNICEF. The bags cost $18 to buy, and our club members will be selling them throughout the month of October,” Wu said.

According to Wu, order forms will be handed out to members at the next meeting.

Wu said, “We will also discuss the possibility of creating a movie about commemorating the Haiti earthquake because UNICEF handled the emergency care of the country this past January.”

“(The officers) usually talk about ways to raise money and discuss events that we will do this year such as International Fair, bake sales and many others,” sponsor Jill Noel said. “I would invite any students who wish to get involved to come to the next meeting.”
