Academic Decathlon will have a meeting on Nov. 8. Club sponsor Wendy Gerardot said she hopes at this meeting, the members that have yet to pick up their study materials will do so. Ten out of 12 members have already picked up their study materials and have started studying for the competition in January.
“So far, everything has gone as planned,” Gerardot said. She said a lot of the members have been using SRT time to study the binder of material that will help prepare them for the regional competition on Jan. 21.
Nina Sun, honors member and junior, said she has been studying two to three hours a week.
“I hope all of the team’s studying pays off in the end,” Sun said.
According to Sun, the first official meeting of the team went “very well” and she said she is looking forward to getting to know the other members better.
“There’s a good variety of people. I’m excited to work with them,” Sun said. “I know we’ll all get along well.”
