Astronomy Club will host its annual winter holiday planetarium show called “Season of Light” at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Dec. 10. Tickets are available at the CHS bookstore. Prices are $4 for adults and $2 for children, seniors and CHS students.
According to club sponsor Keith Turner, the show will focus on how the holidays tie in with astronomical events, and it is suitable for all ages. Both showings are usually sold out, according to Yanying Chen, club president and sophomore.
The club does not yet have a date set for its next meeting.
“We have no (events other than “Season of Light”) coming up since everyone is very busy at this time of year,” Chen said via email.
Additionally, the planetarium show about galaxies that Astronomy Club members have been working on is not going as well as planned, according to Chen.
“The show is not going to get done in the spring as we have hoped. Everyone is much busier this year than last year, and we never took that into account when we planned this last year,” she said. “So as of right now, we only have the script done and nothing else, although we are hoping to finish by the end of summer vacation this year.”
