With Homecoming over, Senior Class begins to plan graduation

By: Jade Luo <[email protected]>

With successful Homecoming activities over, the next thing the Senior Class officers plan is graduation. Along with graduation, the class officers must decide and organize a class gift. According to vice president Kathleen LaMagna, the class gift is a tradition in which seniors leave a departing gift to the school. The class gift is bought by the Senior Class’s money.

“The Class of ’07 got a rock or plaque for the school. We’ll be getting something like that,” LaMagna said.
Class sponsor and teacher Terri Edwards said she has no idea what the Senior Class gift will be yet. The class officers will not hold a meeting for a while, since the event is so far away. “(It will be) closer to the holidays or right after the holidays.”

“We have graduation at the end of the year, and as far as class officers go, we really don’t have much,” LaMagna said. “Everything’s pretty much died down after Homecoming. We really don’t have specific events planned.”

However, LaMagna said that she is proud of the success of Homecoming activities. “We were so proud of our playhouse. We couldn’t have been happier with it. It sold for a lot of money, and it’s good to know that it went to a good cause. I’m proud of our class,” she said.

According to LaMagna, for the rest of the year, the class officers are focusing their efforts to raise Senior Class spirit. “We’re really focused on lifting the morale of our class. The four of us are just trying to go to spirited events to try to keep the seniors involved.”
