According to sponsor Jill Noel, UNICEF (United Nations International Children’s Emergency Foundation) club officers scheduled a meeting for the club to take place on Feb. 21. At the meeting, officers and members discussed the upcoming bake sale, which is scheduled to take place late in February, new officer positions for next school year and opportunities for training the new officers.

President and senior Stephanie Wu said, “The bake sale will consist of baked goods that we buy or members bake at their own houses. We might even go to someone’s house and bake the items together. Members will volunteer at the meeting and sell the baked goods during their lunch periods.”

Noel also said the meeting would be when new officer positions would be announced.

“The officers will pick the new officers based on the interviews that were conducted at the last meeting and the voting,” Noel said.

Although the officers will not begin to manage the club until next school year, Wu said upcoming events would serve as opportunities to train the new officers.

“We’re pretty much letting the new officers run the bake sale after this meeting,” Wu said. “The event will give them the experience that they need to run the club efficiently next year.”
