Adele Zhou, speech team member and senior, will be the only participant from the CHS speech team in the National tournament on June 13-18 in Indianapolis. It is the first time that Indianapolis is hosting the National since 1993.

John Love, speech team sponsor and English teacher, said he is proud of having a member of his team qualify for National. He said Zhou has put in excellent effort during the season, and she deserves to participate at the national level.

“I am hoping that Adele will put in all her effort, and I hope that she does extremely well in the tournament,” Love said.

Zhou is not a stranger to the National tournament. This is her third year in a row that she will be going to National. Zhou said she is not that nervous for the National as she was a couple years ago.  Zhou will compete with 300 other people in the dramatic interpretation department. As the National will be Zhou’s final competition in her high school career, Zhou said she will give it her best effort in the National tournament.
