LifeLines finishes Black History Month events, meet March 6 to discuss Pre-prom Awareness Week events

LifeLines members continue to work with the Diversity Focus Group during February’s Black History Month and will conclude the month’s actives with one final movie shown during SRT: “The Color of Friendship.”

According to LifeLines officer and senior Theja Bhamidipati, members will meet in the Community Room on March 6 at 7 a.m. to discuss plans for Pre-prom Awareness Week.

“We are working with Diversity Focus Group to help spread the word about Black History month with movies, banners and facts over the announcements,” Bhamidipati said. “This month so far has been a great success for the LifeLines club.”

Sponsor Rebekah Overbey said LifeLines members will choose several inspiration Black history songs to play during passing periods this Friday.

“I’m sure they’ll do a fabulous job finding pieces to play. So far, the month has been such an accomplishment and I hope we can end it well with a nice conclusion to the month,” Overbey said
