The fundraiser will be conducted during lunches April 15 to 19 and will consist of a cookie sale, with each cookie costing $1. Students wishing to participate may create a personalized message to go along with their cookie, which the Africa Awareness Club will deliver to the recipient’s SRT on April 23.

Plans and preparation for the fundraiser will be finalized as of the club’s meeting on March 26, according to club president and junior Megan Riley. At this meeting, club members will go about making posters and flyers to raise awareness for the event, as well as sorting out any last-minute details that need taken care of, such as determining when to bake the cookies.

In the end, the club’s goals come back to the cause they stand for. Riley said that, “We might watch one of the Invisible Children movies…as a reminder of why we’re doing this.”
