Junior Ava Ehret, an equestrian for Burnett Farms, trains with her horse. Ehret said her sport takes up a significant amount of her free time. Ehret said, My whole school year (turned upside down) because I moved to a new barn. I’m gone for four hours after school; I get (out of school), get up there at 5 p.m. and get back at 9 p.m. So there’s just no time to do anything that’s not what I currently do, and to be honest, there’s no time for that either.”

Carmel Clay Public Library to host Teen Library Council meeting

The Carmel Clay Public Library will host a Teen Library Council (TLC) meeting on May 7 from 7 to 8:30 p.m in the program room.
Students will be able to turn in their TLC applications for next year if they need to and prepare for summer interviews for the next batch of TLC members.
According to Jamie Beckman, young adult librarian at the CCPL, there are also other plans for the meeting.
“We are planning to celebrate our seniors who will be graduating and finish up any last minute business for the year,” Beckman said.
Divya Sarda, vice president of the Teen Library Council and senior, said that this meeting will be different from the other ones.
“We’re just going to be giving our graduating seniors a proper sendoff before they go off to college,” Sarda said.
