With many of the triathlon preparations taken care of, the CHS aquatic center is now planning for the summer.

Aquatic center director Kinsey Wallace said that these preparations include hiring more lifeguards and swim instructors for all the summer sessions and lifeguard shifts.

“That keeps me busy but looking forward to the summer,” said Wallace

While the aquatic center will need some new staff members over the summer, their summer programs will not change. Swim lessons and stroke development courses will still be offered.

“We’re also doing our second year of the summer swim team, which is a small, non-competitive team for any kid interested in swimming on a team over the summer,” said Wallace.

“I’d encourage anybody to at least try out the summer swim team if they’re interested in swimming on a team. It sounds like a great experience,” said Troy Li, Carmel swimmer and sophomore.
