Men’s junior varsity basketball team has been doing well in its games. Many injuries have plagued them throughout the season but with only losing four games, the team has been doing great according to Francis Ramirez, JV men’s basketball head coach. Their next game will be against Ben Davis on Jan. 24.
Injuries for the team have been common throughout its season. Luke Parker, JV basketball player and sophomore, injured himself after getting a rebound and coming down on his teammates foot. Parker has been out for six weeks after finding out he tore ligaments in his right ankle. “It (stinks) just watching the game and not being able to play,” Parker said.
With other minor injuries here and there, it has been a struggle to compete but the team is pulling through. Ramirez said, “We have battled injuries all season long with a couple of our guys, but have found ways to overcome the setbacks.”
Parker will be back for the game against Ben Davis. Parker said he looks forward to, “getting out there and playing instead of having to watch from the bench.”
