The CHS swim season is about to start, and with this development, the aquatics center will become extremely busy for the next few months. However, it will still remain open during all of winter break.
“Nothing is new program-wise, but the pool is crowded and very busy,” aquatics center director Kinsey Wallace said. She said, with all the swimmers using the pool, the space available for lap swimmers might become scarce.
According to Wallace, the pool will remain open all throughout winter break, so the public will have many opportunities to use the pool then.
“The pool will be open over break. We offer club and high school practices, as well as community lap swim. We will be busy from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. every night with some kind of practice or swim meet use all of the break,” Wallace said.
Wallace also said that the aquatics center is still looking for lifeguards, and those who wish to apply should contact her via e-mail or phone. Her contact information is available on the aquatics center website.
“You have to have a certification to be a lifeguard, and you have to be okay with basically having to save someone if you need to, so if you’re not prepared to do that, don’t do this job,” lifeguard and junior Julian Tyte said.
