Boys Soccer Prepares for Sectionals Oct. 7

The men’s soccer team prepares to compete in the first round of the Sectional tournament on Oct. 7 against Guerin at Guerin Catholic. Charles Price, team member and senior, said the team is well prepared for the tournament. He said the team has been playing well together this season and is eager for a State title. Price said the team has had a strong season and is now mentally preparing for the first round.

“The regular season went very well for us. Before Sectionals we need to ensure that we do not let the pressure of the moment negatively affect us. If we continue to play to the ability we are capable of, we will like our chances in Sectionals,” Price said.

Head Coach Shane Schmidt said the team has been working hard this whole season and said he can see the drive in them. He said that his players are eager to begin the tournament and are ready to fight for a state title. Schmidt said the team has worked hard all season and have overcome obstacles that will only help them throughout the Sectional tournament.

He said, “We have to keep moving forward. We have had a strong season, but we are not done. All our cylinders are starting to fire. We have liked the season as a proverbial ladder and have stepped up the rung every time. If we keep moving in this direction the team will be successful.”
