ASL Club gets access to Community Room, plans Thanksgiving party

The ASL Club has recently been given access to the Community Room to host their parties. The ASL Club president and senior Raelyn O’Dell said she is especially excited to have been given access to this room because it will allow a new member of the club the ability to come to some of the club’s meetings. She said via email, “There is a deaf girl at the school named Cici (Stafford) who wants to be part of the ASL Club, but she’s in a wheelchair so she can’t come to our meetings on the second floor. I’m really excited to have access to the Community Room because it’s on the first floor and now she can come to all our parties. She came to the Halloween party and it was a lot of fun to have her there. We look forward to seeing her more and more as the year goes on.”

O’Dell also said the ASL Club plans on hosting several parties for the upcoming holidays including Thanksgiving and Christmas. Their next event will be a Thanksgiving party and will take place during SRT on Nov. 19 in the Community Room. ASL Club sponsor Joseph Wheeler said the Halloween party was a success, and the club is excited to host another party for Thanksgiving.
