Nicole Bills, aquatics director of the aquatic center, is working to finalize all of the preparations needed in order to successfully run the annual Sprint Triathlon, which takes place on April 24. So far, 300 people have signed up for the race. Bills said, “Some of the preparations couldn’t be done until now because we didn’t know how many people to expect at the triathlon.”
The Carmel Aquatic Center has been working with Tuxedo Brothers, an event management service, to host the Sprint Triathlon. Bills said that a lot of the work she has done is to make sure she is on the same page with Don, who is one of the program coordinator at Tuxedo Brothers. Although the Carmel Aquatic Center runs the triathlon, the Tuxedo Brothers owns much of the equipment used in the race.
Senior Stanley Liu is considering signing up for the relay race portion of the Sprint Triathlon. He said, “I think it’d be a great way to hang out with friends.”
