Starting tonight with West Clay from 4 to 9 p.m., Key Club plans to help a number of elementary school with carnivals and “family fun” nights. Also on the agenda is College Wood Elementary Carnival, Cherry Tree’s Cherry Blossom Festival, as well as others. Both College Wood and Cherry Tree will be hosting their events on Mar. 8.
Tianyi Zhang, Key Club President and senior, said she urges members to sign up for the carnivals, which are good for earning group hours. “There’s no deadline for signing up; just please do it as soon as possible,” Zhang said.
One minor change, according to Zhang, was made to the Carmel Elementary readings. Instead of the readings occurring on Wednesdays from 4 to 5 p.m., the club will go on Thursdays, still from 4 to 5 p.m. Also, members can go on any day of the week, but will be required to fill out an hours sheet for group hours.
Zhang said Key Club intends to arrange a book drive that will hopefully become a school wide event. “We hope that we can get the whole school involved,” Zhang said.
