President Lauren Alexander of Rising Stars welcomes a member in their first meeting. Alexander places great importance in the fact that making members feel welcomed and appreciated is a fundamental aspect of how Rising Stars operates.

The Rising Stars Club plans to begin having regular meetings this school year. According to senior and president Lauren Alexander, these meetings will be every first Thursday of the month located in the Studio Theatre from 3:20 to 4:30 p.m.

“The purpose of our club is to bond the gap between theatrical and technical arts,” Alexander said.

According to sponsor Jim Peterson, this club is very unique due to the atmosphere not prevalent in many other locations.

“The members here are very interesting; their personalities and ability to get along with one another make this a great experience,” Peterson said.

Moreover, Alexander said that Rising Stars will have a new goal for this year.

“We want to further recognize the success in our members this year, so we will have a Thespian of the month award,” Alexander said. “It will be a fun way to reward excellence shown in this club.”
