Anime Club open to new members

Anime Club, a club dedicated to watching and drawing anime, is still available to join. It meets every other Monday and there is a one time $5 fee for snacks. There is no scheduled deadline for joining, but those interested are encouraged to join as soon as possible.

Club sponsor Rita Winters said it is a completely student run program. No permission slip is required at this time. Jessica Bachkurinskiy, club president and junior, said she encourages anyone interested in Anime or eastern culture to come to one meeting.

Bachkurinskiy said she is trying to move the club from just watching anime to drawing and discussing it.

Anime club is still planning to have anime be the center of their activities, but with more Eastern Asian culture woven in. Some activities the club is planning on doing include a costume contest, Halloween party and trip to Journey restaurant.

Anime Club is not planning anything for the Japaneses exchange program, but Bachkurinskiy said, “If you can’t go to Japan we have a little slice of it here.”
