NHS officers Dalton Thompson, Jai Sanghani, Hannah Park and Justin Park stand around the podium and review the agenda before the monthly meeting begins. The officers announced the two shifts available for the CEF telethon and discussed group hour opportunities for carnation sales.
During the month of January, the National Honor Society (NHS) has been preparing for the Carmel Education Foundation (CEF) telethon and February carnation sales.
Dalton Thompson, NHS president and senior, said the telethon will take place on Jan. 23, 24, and 25. NHS members will participate in the telethon in the computer lab in the World Language department.
“We basically call people and tell them we’re members of NHS at Carmel High School, tell them about CEF and everything it offers students and hope we receive donations,” said Thompson.
NHS will also be focusing on their annual carnation sales during February. According to Thompson, the sales will take place from Feb. 5 to Feb. 12.
Thompson said, “NHS members will sell the carnations during lunches, and deliveries will take place a few weeks after sales have ended.”
