The Best Buddies club plans to host a Halloween themed party for its club members on Oct. 31 after school since the holiday falls on a school day this year. The club also plans to collectively participate in Halloween themed activities from other clubs and organizations, such as the Ghosts and Goblins run, according to Anne Schuh, Best Buddies president and senior.
Schuh said, “You usually come in a costume, and we have awards, candy and crafts, some games.”
Best Buddies sponsor Christine Ellis said the location of the Halloween party is to be determined, but that it will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Ellis said, “We’re going to celebrate Halloween all together, as buddies.”
Senior and club officer Melissa Settle said this party is an annual event for Best Buddies, but that this year will be the first where the party will take place on Halloween.
Settle said, “I’m excited that it’s on Halloween because a lot of our friends go trick or treating, so this’ll be an age-appropriate alternative.” By Riya Chinni
