With Ghosts and Goblins GO approaching, WHJE is currently utilizing its platform in order to promote the event. Registration for the event, which the Carmel Education Foundation (CEF) will host from Oct. 23 to Nov. 8, is now open and ends on Nov. 8. It costs $10 per person and $40 per a group of up to six people.
Katelyn Conley, WHJE liaison manager and senior, is in charge of the WHJE promotion initiative for Ghosts and Goblins GO. Conley said this event serves as a fundraiser for the CEF.
“I think it’s very important because the Carmel Ed(ucation) Foundation does so much for the whole district and everything,” Conley said. “(This event) is a fundraiser and it helps create a bunch of scholarship opportunities for seniors that are going to be graduating this year and it’s like a fun fundraiser that is going to benefit us.”
Conley said this event not only impacts seniors at CHS, but also impacts the community of Carmel as a whole.
“I think it’s just a really fun event and to me, fun things are very impactful, like you’re going to remember something if you had a good time,” she said. “And I feel like people who are just coming out to support the community and everything really show that we have that strong connection within Carmel and it’s going to benefit the students and everything. So, I think in that sort of way, it kind of shows that it is really impactful.”
WHJE radio adviser Dominic James said he agreed and added that the WHJE has implemented new merchandise.
“If anybody would like to get some merchandise, check out the WHJE email, there will be something on there about that,” James said. “(Also) we’ve continued to upgrade the website (https://whje.com), there are more stories and features and stuff like that, so check out (the) WHJE website really.”
