Upcoming Model U.N. meeting to be announced soon

The next Model U.N. meeting has not been scheduled, according to sponsor Tracy Hadden. She said the meeting would be a mandatory training session overseen by the Indianapolis coordinator of the Model U.N. organization.

“There (are no meetings planned) right now,” Hadden said. “The next important date will be a training session on parliamentary procedure and resolution writing by the Indianapolis coordinator, but that has not been scheduled yet.”

Earlier this month, position papers were to be submitted to head delegates and subsequently to the Indianapolis coordinators, according to the information sheet members received. The papers should have been submitted by Feb. 9 to head delegates and by Feb. 12 to the coordinators. Members who failed to meet the deadline may face losing the right to participate, according to the paper.

Hadden said the Model U.N. team would be having meetings as needed until the conferences, which are scheduled for March 18 and March 19.

Rossie Nho, head delegate and sophomore, said, “I’m hoping this will be an experience for me to go in depth about some of the things I knew and didn’t know about countries and their ties with the United Nations.” By Victor Xu <[email protected]>
