Choirs start competition season, prepare for spring concert

The Accents and Ambassadors show choirs are currently in the midst of their competition seasons. At their first competition on Feb. 27 at Lawrence Central High School, both choirs received first runner-up titles. They continue their seasons with competitions scheduled on March 6 at Ft. Wayne Carroll High School and March 13 in Wheaton, IL. Blue and Gold Company is also preparing for a tour of three elementary schools in April.

Placement auditions for next school year’s choral groups conclude on March 5, and all choirs are currently preparing for the upcoming Spring Concert. The concert is scheduled for May 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Tickets can be purchased at the door. Prices are $5 for adults and $3 for students.

Choir director Ann Conrad said, “It’s a busy time for all of the choral groups right now. We have a lot going on and we’re working very hard to get everything done.” By Jade Schwarting <[email protected]>
