With the holiday season approaching, the National Honor Society (NHS) has organized holiday-themed volunteer opportunities. According to Grace Yang, NHS tutoring supervisor and senior, NHS members are encouraged to sign up and help aid in various Nutcracker shows at the Center for the Performing Arts.
Yang said, “The Center for the Performing Arts (is) looking for some volunteers to help act as ushers for the show. It is on Dec. 16 through Dec. 18 and there are four shows.”
The time for volunteer shifts varies for each show.
Additionally, according to NHS sponsor Allison Malloy, NHS members must get their semester hours logged before the upcoming deadline in December.
Malloy said, “All hours for students are due the first Friday in December. I think it’s Dec. 2, and then any student who doesn’t reach at least 15 hours this semester will be removed from NHS.” By Ella Lipnik
