The Model U.N. callout meeting and registration will occur in mid to late September, according to club sponsor Tracy Hadden. Announcements will be made as the date draws closer. Hadden said as of right now, Model U.N. is in the planning process for the upcoming year.
“There won’t be much to report until I get information from the Indianapolis coordinator with this year’s information,” Hadden said.
Junior Yeseul “Rossie” Nho, who represented Sierra Leone last year in Model U.N., said that she encourages students who are interested in current events to come out to the call out meeting.
“Anyone who’s interested what goes on in world politics would like it,” she said. “I liked it because it allowed me to voice out my opinions,” she said.
In Model U.N. students are elected to be delegates for a country, which means that they assume the role of an ambassador to the United Nations in a Model UN simulation. They will represent this country throughout the year until the final conference. According the Hadden, this conference is usually during the third week in March.
